Since graduating with a Masters in Fine Art at Rhodes University over two decades ago, I have been designing images in different formats, media and applications.
It’s all I’ve ever done (besides raising two boys, climbing ladders and fetching cricket balls off the roof).
Almost half my career has been spent doing classic, exacting and heavily researched designs for the The Cape Mint (international medals, collector coins and high-end trophies).
The other half of my career has been working in the digital domain – designing websites, animations, flash games, infographics and marketing material – mostly for the inbound tourism sector in South Africa.
For this I’ve been using Flash, some HTML, CSS and an arsenal of digital design tools including dabbling in 3D packages like Swift3d and Zbrush.
I’m also a dab hand at good old Scalable Vector Graphics.
I have entered a number of global design and animation competitions with personal projects that I’ve worked on over the years, and come up trumps on a number of occasions.
I thrive on the challenge of creating images that are memorable, striking and to the brief – from cartoons to infinitesimally detailed.
If you’d like to know a little bit more about my skills, offerings and approaches, or if I can be of any service, I look forward to hearing from you.
